Welcome Visitors,,, These are some of the girls from Hive # 76 doing a final inspection of the new addition to their Home. They really enjoy the aroma of the Ponderosa Pine. The wood slats that you see are the top bars to the frames that encase both the honey comb and the brood comb sections that make up the interior of their Bee Hive. There are about 60,000 Bees in this Colony. It consists of "only" 1 Queen Bee, (the Egg layer) about 60,000 Worker Bees (all Female but non-Egglaying and they do all of the work) and at certain times of the year, dozens and dozens of Drones (the Male Bees). "Drones" only perform one task. :-)
